The four bodega visits offered something different : fab restaurant, vineyard visit, small start -up and a cooperative with a tasting of ‘raw’ wine from the huge steel tanks.

What a great trip. Well organised and made even more interesting by Colin’s knowledge (and interjections !).

Lovely hotel, I wish them every success. Thanks for a most enjoyable three days.

Short Wine/Dine Break, Yecla

Good morning Colin,

We do I start?   We’ve enjoyed many of your dinners and tastings over the last three years, but this one was better than all the rest…

As anticipated , the whole trip was expertly organised, as you always put so much effort into making these perfect.  But I didn’t expect to find so much packed into the two days we were with you.

I must also thank you for welcoming my father to the group, whose last words when I dropped him off at the airport earlier, were to say how much he enjoyed everything and to thank you on his behalf.

All four of the bodega tours were interesting and diverse.   I really enjoy visiting Bodega Castano as Raquel there always falls over backwards to make us welcome.   The lunches and dinners were excellent too, particularly Barahonda, to which we diverted on our return journey after leaving you to sample their 12-course degustation menu, which was possibly the best lunch I have had anywhere in Spain.

Last and by no means least, Casa Boquera was a peaceful and comfortable retreat.   We are already planning a return trip there with some friends who couldn’t make the tour last week.

Kind Regards

Neil
