U3A Moraira-Teulada Wine Tasting, Oct. 2013

Wine Tasting
A big thank you for a really enjoyable evening of wine tasting.  Wow, what an improvement on the venue after the last time.  We tried to mingle quite a lot and heard only very complimentary comments from everyone – and why wouldn’t they be impressed, listening to ‘the best’ wine presenter in the business?

Lots of love

Received from Moraira Teulada U3A after their Wine Tasting Evening, Oct. 2013

Hi Colin

Thanks for your e-mail and your kind words. Attached is my short report, presented to U3A, to be included in the next newsletter. As I said in it, I am most grateful for the excellent wines you selected for tasting. The fact that the residue wines were snapped up so quickly is evidence of their popularity.

Then, lots of the people present have asked me to compliment you on the way you presented the information on the wines. While it was necessarily factual, it was delivered with great humour, attempting to connect with people in all corners of the room. You are also thanked for the patience shown in dealing with questions, no matter how facile they may have been.

Although I personally have vowed never to be involved in other U3A projects, simply because of the time commitment necessary –  if it was a project that involved working with Colin Harkness then I think I could easily be persuaded to change my mind.

Regards and best wishes

Lynn Clark

Gratefully received after visit to sister Bodegas, Sierra Salinas & Castaño, Oct. 2013

Hi Colin,
Many thanks for an excellent (as usual) trip to the Bodegas Castano. We both thoroughly enjoyed the day, and having the Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir (alright, not the whole choir) sing Happy Birthday made it very special for Helen.
Just a quick question. I can’t remember if we drank the Castano Dulce chilled or at room temperature. I’ve looked on their website but can’t see any information regarding serving temperature. What serving temperature would you suggest?
Also, don’t forget our interest in a trip to Jerez, possibly in April 2014. We’ll leave it with you.
Many thanks again.
